Find out how to play Craps and understand the rules of Craps

Learning to play craps and indeed starting to understand craps is probably difficult at first. But most craps players would say that it would be a shame if you don’t at least try to play craps. Craps offers some of the best odds any casino player could ask for.

In a typical craps table there are basically four casino personnel. The boxman colors out craps players, protects the chips and manages the dealers. There are two base craps dealers. These two dealers are responsible for paying and collecting the bets. They are placed at the two sides of the boxman. The stickman stands directly opposite the boxman. He is responsible for collecting the dice via his long wooden stick and announces the result of each dice roll. He is also the charge of the bets placed in the middle of the craps table. In craps the term yo is used for eleven so as not to confuse this with seven when the stickman announces the results.

The game of craps is a dice game, therefore players take turns in rolling the two dice. The craps player that currently rolls is called the shooter. The shooter is offered five dice in which he has to pick two in order to play craps. The craps dealers maintain that shooters throw the dice in one hand and bounce it off the side of the table so as to prevent from replacing the dice or throwing a controlled dice.

The first throw of the dice in a new round of craps is called the come-out roll. Bets are made on the sum of the two dice and not on just one. There are a number of bets in craps. The pass line bets is also called the right bet as nearly all craps bettors bet on the pass line. The opposite of the pass line bet in craps is called the don’t pass bet or wrong bet. The shooter usually bets on the pass line bet. He wins if he rolls a 7 or 11, he loses if he rolls 2, 3 or 12, which are called ‘craps’.

If he rolls a 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10, that would be a point in which the shooter needs to roll that same number again before rolling a seven to win. If he rolls a seven without rolling the point first he loses. A don’t pass bet is the opposite of pass line bet. The bettor wins if the come-our roll is 2 or 3. If it’s a 12 then it’s called a push or a tie. If the roll is 7 or 11 then he loses. Any other number would be a point. In a point a 7 must be rolled or else the bettor loses the bet.

A come and don’t come bet is the same as the pass line and the don’t pass line bets. They are played only after the first come-out roll.
